Role Summary:
As an Anesthesiologist, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, managing their pain and vital functions before, during, and after surgery to ensure safe and comfortable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients’ medical histories, pre-existing conditions, and medications to determine the appropriate anesthesia plan.
- Administer various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia, using precise dosages and monitoring equipment.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, throughout surgical procedures.
- Adjust anesthesia levels as needed to maintain patients’ comfort and safety during surgery.
- Manage post-operative pain and nausea, and provide supportive care to patients in the recovery room.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for surgical patients.
Requirements:
- Medical degree from a recognized institution, with specialization in anesthesiology.
- Valid medical license to practice as an anesthesiologist in Nigeria.
- Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia drugs, equipment, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
