Role Summary:
As a Drilling Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing drilling operations and ensuring that they are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. You will lead a team of drilling crew members and contractors to achieve project objectives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate drilling activities, including well design, casing programs, and drilling fluid management, to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise drilling crew members and contractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor drilling parameters and equipment performance to identify and address issues that may affect drilling operations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to assess and mitigate risks associated with drilling activities.
- Coordinate with engineering and geology teams to interpret drilling data and make recommendations for optimizing well performance.
- Prepare drilling reports and documentation, including daily drilling reports, cost estimates, and equipment maintenance records.
- Provide technical support and guidance to drilling crew members and contractors, including troubleshooting equipment problems and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with rig managers, logistics coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient operation of drilling rigs and support services.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to drilling operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in drilling operations, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and procedures.
- Experience in supervising drilling crews and contractors in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and travel as required.
