Role Summary:
As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating environmental risks associated with oil and gas operations. You will work closely with project teams to develop and implement environmental management plans and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental assessments and impact studies for oil and gas projects, including site evaluations, air quality monitoring, and water quality testing.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMP) to mitigate environmental risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts, including permit applications, regulatory reporting, and inspections.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on environmental issues, including pollution prevention, waste management, and remediation measures.
  • Monitor environmental performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to assess compliance with environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Investigate environmental incidents, accidents, and complaints, and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, contractors, and local communities, to address environmental concerns and build positive relationships.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, developments, and emerging environmental issues, and incorporate best practices into environmental management programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in environmental engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to oil and gas operations.
  • Experience conducting environmental assessments, impact studies, and permitting activities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex environmental issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
  • Proficiency in environmental modeling software, GIS, and other relevant tools and technologies.
