Role Summary:
As a Gastroenterologist you will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, liver, and pancreas, providing expert care to patients with digestive diseases and promoting gastrointestinal health and wellness.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic procedures, such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and imaging studies, to evaluate GI tract disorders and conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with GI disorders, including medication management, dietary modifications, and minimally invasive procedures.
  • Perform therapeutic interventions, such as polyp removal, biopsy, and stent placement, to treat GI conditions and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, oncologists, and nutritionists, to manage complex GI cases.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on GI health, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Stay updated on advances in gastroenterology research and treatment modalities.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution, with specialization in gastroenterology.
  • Valid medical license to practice as a gastroenterologist in Nigeria.
  • Board certification or eligibility in gastroenterology.
  • Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures and interpreting imaging studies.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in managing a wide range of GI disorders.
