Role Summary:
As a Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations and standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards and evaluate workplace safety risks.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees on topics such as hazard identification, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response, and workplace ergonomics.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Collaborate with management, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations and industry best practices and recommend updates to policies and procedures as needed.
  • Participate in safety committees and meetings to address safety concerns, review incidents, and discuss safety improvements.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of safety management systems and practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety matters and serve as a resource for safety-related questions and concerns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, HSE, and ISO requirements.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others to achieve safety goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
