Role Summary:
As a Health Information Manager at our client’s healthcare facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of health information systems and medical records. You will ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of patient information while complying with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the collection, storage, and retrieval of health information in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and other health information technology platforms to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security.
- Supervise health information staff, including medical coders, billers, and clerical personnel, and provide training and guidance on health information management practices.
- Conduct audits and quality assessments of health records to monitor compliance with coding guidelines, documentation standards, and billing practices.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to improve documentation accuracy, coding completeness, and revenue cycle performance.
- Prepare and analyze health information reports and statistical data to support decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in health information management, including changes in regulations, coding systems, and technology applications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health information management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare organization.
- Strong knowledge of health information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and medical coding and billing practices.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in health information technology and computer applications.
