Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and board-certified Laparoscopic Urologist to join our state-of-the-art medical centers in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. This is a full-time expatriate position, ideal for highly skilled surgeons with a strong background in advanced urological procedures and a commitment to delivering superior patient care.
The successful candidate will play a key role in surgical services and will join a multidisciplinary medical team dedicated to clinical excellence and innovation in urology care. Immediate availability is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Surgical Procedures: Perform complex laparoscopic and urological surgeries including but not limited to TURP, HoLEP, PCNL, Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy, RIRS, Kidney Transplant, and Donor Nephrectomy.
- Minimally Invasive Techniques: Apply advanced laparoscopic methods to ensure effective treatment with minimal trauma and faster patient recovery.
- Comprehensive Patient Management: Provide expert clinical care throughout the patient’s journey—preoperative assessment, surgery, and post-operative management.
- Emergency Response: Participate in scheduled on-call rotations to handle urological emergencies and provide prompt surgical interventions.
- Mentorship & Training: Mentor junior doctors, residents, and fellows to support knowledge transfer and skills development within the urology team.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with specialists including nephrologists, oncologists, and radiologists to provide holistic patient care.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and research to stay abreast of advancements in urological care and surgical technologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certification: FRCS, FWACS, or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years post-MBBS surgical/urology training.
- Specialist Registration: Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Surgical Competence: Proven proficiency in key laparoscopic and urologic procedures. Emphasis is placed on case volume and technical proficiency.
- Technical Experience: Familiarity with surgical equipment from Storz, Olympus, or similar leading brands.
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Preferred Regions: Applicants from India, Egypt, Cuba, Lebanon, and Turkey are strongly encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule
- Working Hours: 6–8 hours daily, Monday to Saturday
- On-Call Duty: 2–3 calls/month for emergency cases
