Role Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas operations. You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical systems in challenging environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas drilling, production, and processing operations.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to optimize the design and performance of mechanical systems.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical components and systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new mechanical designs and modifications.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, including electrical, civil, and structural engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to procure materials and equipment for mechanical projects.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment in the field.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and failures and implement effective solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance activities to ensure the integrity and functionality of mechanical systems.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to mechanical engineering in the oil and gas sector.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex mechanical systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering in the oil and gas sector.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
