Our client is a leading manufacturer specializing in fabricating specialized components for the oil and gas industry. With a focus on quality and innovation, they provide a range of products including welded steel oil rigs, drilling spare parts, skid units, pressure control equipment, and kinetic tools used in upstream drilling operations.

Role Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components used in oil and gas drilling operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components, including welded steel oil rigs, drilling spare parts, skid units, pressure control equipment, and kinetic tools, to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance technicians, to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance, and address any issues or concerns during the design and manufacturing process.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations for product improvements and optimizations.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical components and systems, and oversee the fabrication, assembly, and testing processes to ensure compliance with design requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical issues or failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and improve product reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, and evaluate supplier performance and quality to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, methodologies, and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE license) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, concepts, and practices, with expertise in designing and developing mechanical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment, including welding, machining, and fabrication, and knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts and ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
