Role Summary:
As an Ophthalmologist you will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and disorders, providing expert care to patients of all ages while promoting eye health and vision preservation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health.
  • Diagnose and treat eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and therapeutic techniques.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including cataract surgery, laser eye surgery, and corneal transplantation, with precision and skill.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, and other treatments to manage ocular conditions and optimize visual outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families about eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive eye care services.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution, with specialization in ophthalmology.
  • Valid medical license to practice as an ophthalmologist in Nigeria.
  • Board certification or eligibility in ophthalmology.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye diseases and disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
