Role Summary:
As a Pathologist you will specialize in the diagnosis and characterization of disease through the examination of tissues, blood, and other bodily fluids, providing essential information to guide patient care and treatment decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform microscopic examinations of tissue specimens to diagnose diseases, such as cancer, infections, and inflammatory conditions.
  • Analyze laboratory tests, including blood counts, chemistry panels, and microbiological cultures, to identify abnormalities and disease markers.
  • Interpret test results and communicate findings to healthcare providers to facilitate patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals, including surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists, to integrate pathological findings into patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to research projects and scholarly activities to advance the field of pathology.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution, with specialization in pathology.
  • Valid medical license to practice as a pathologist in Nigeria.
  • Board certification or eligibility in pathology.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and expertise in interpreting histological and laboratory findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
