Job Summary:

The Radiographer will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, and other radiographic services to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The successful candidate must ensure patient safety, maintain high-quality imaging standards, and provide compassionate care while adhering to the hospital’s protocols and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, fluoroscopy) as prescribed by medical professionals.
  • Ensure proper positioning of patients and settings of equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation of procedures and image results.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols and infection control policies.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and timely delivery of results.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant professional, ethical, and hospital standards.
  • Educate and prepare patients for radiographic procedures, ensuring comfort and clarity.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and continuous professional development.
  • Provide support during emergency imaging services as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiography or Medical Radiologic Science from an accredited institution.
  • Must be registered with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) and possess a current practicing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a reputable healthcare facility (experience in a private hospital setting is an advantage).
  • Proficiency in operating various imaging equipment including digital radiography and CT scanners.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety standards and patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure.
