Role Summary:
As a Sustainability Officer at our client’s retail company, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of sustainable business practices and environmental initiatives across the organization. You will play a key role in developing and executing strategies to reduce environmental impact, promote sustainability, and enhance corporate social responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainability policies, programs, and initiatives to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable practices within the organization.
  • Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address environmental issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into business operations, including product sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, and distribution.
  • Monitor and analyze key sustainability metrics and performance indicators to track progress towards sustainability goals and targets.
  • Educate and train employees on sustainable practices and initiatives, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and community organizations, to promote sustainability and foster partnerships for environmental conservation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and environmental management, and incorporate new ideas and technologies into sustainability strategies.
  • Prepare sustainability reports and communications for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related role, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental conservation.
